In January of 2006, Principal Gary Yoshinobu and P.E. Department Chair Jack Hansen preside at the dedication of the Belmont large gymnasium to Yoshito "Tom" Arima. Coach Arima was a Belmont graduate and taught at the school for over four decades. In his tenure, he coached basketball, baseball, golf and gymnastics to name a few. He led the Sentinels to numerous league titles before his retirement in 1998..

Born: May 18, 1891. Died: January 14, 1970. Coach Hollinger opened the school as AD (athletic coordinator) and physical training department chairman in '23, he graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA where he was a member of the men's basketball team from 1913-1916. He coached every sport Belmont fielded at one point or another in his career. A few years before retiring, "Pop" left Belmont and finished his career at Canoga Park High School where he retired in 1956 as the PE Department Chairman and Athletic Coordinator (AD today.) A resident of Chatsworth, CA which was open countryside at the time, he became a full-time farmer in his later years. Coach Hollinger taught and coached for 33 years in the LA City Schools. He began his career outside of Los Angeles for 7 years prior to arriving at Belmont. He served in the United States Army in World War I as a 2d LT in Co B, 75th Infantry Regiment. Coach rests at Dearborn Memorial Park Cemetery, Poway, San Diego County, CA..

A graduate of Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA, he coached many sports, but spent most of his tenure heading the track and field and cross country programs.
